Islamic Presentation Preparation

On Monday 28th, Nov. we returned from Thanksgiving break and took teh first part of class to review where we were. Then we spent the remainder of the class finishing our presentations. If you were absent, you will need to do the following:

Islamic Empire, Culture, and Civilization

On Monday 21st, Nov. we continued our study of Islamic civilization. First, we had to take a few minutes to finish our notes from last time. We then corrected our assignment and then began a new one. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Please turn in your assignment from last time called Creating an Arab Empire.

2) Read the remainder of Chap 6 Sec 2 and fill in the notes sheet. It is important for you to read the section so you understand the main ideas; however, you may copy notes from a friend, for any notes you can not find.

3) Download the following assignment and complete following the instructions. However, since you were not here, you will not have a group so for Step 1 of the assignment you may choose the topic that interests you the most. Please have your assignment ready for next class.

Early Islam & the Creation of an Arab Empire

On Monday 30th, Nov. we continued our look at early Islam and the beginnings of the Islamic Empires. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) We continued the video from last time and you will need to watch the following video from about the 20:00 minute mark until 35:00 minute mark. As you watch the video take notes that answer the following three questions (5 notes per questions):

- Who was Muhammad? What kind of man was he?
- Who were the Bedouin and whatwas their culture/history/religion?
- What are some fo the teachings of Muhammad and Islam?

2) When you return to class. turn these notes in with your movie notes from last time about Muhammad and the Beginnings of Islam.

3) Read the first part of Chap 6 Section 2 - pages 192-194 and complete the assignment.

Intro to Islam

On Tuesday 15th, Nov. we corrected our quiz from las ttime and then began our next unit. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Come check with me or Skyward to see your quiz score.

2) Watch the following video and complete the notes following the instructions. YOU ONLY NEED TO WATCH THE FIRST 20:00 MINUTES!

As you watch the video take notes that answer the following three questions (10 notes per questions):

Early Chinese Dynasties & Chinese Philosophies

On Tuesday 8th, Nov. we began our study of the early Chinese dynasties. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Turn in your assignment from last time, Early Empires in India.

2) Read pages 86-90 for the Shang and Zhou dynasties and then pages 94-96 for the Qin dynasty. Complete the notes below, you may copy from a friend for notes you can not find. You MUST, however, read the pages so you have all the information.

Physical Geography & Religions of India

Test Correction and Intro to India

On Monday 31st, Oct. I returned and we corrected the test and began our next unit on India and China. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Turn in your review packet from the unit:

- 7 green notes sheets
- 1 pink review crossword
- 1 yellow study guide

2) Check Skyward for your grade on your test.

3) Watch the following video for approximately the first 25 mins. Then write a minimum 1/2 page to 1 page sumamry about what you learned from the video. Pretend you need to explain the main concepts to someone who has not seen the video.
