End of Year Evaluation and Essay

On Thursday 30th, May we completed an end of year evaluation and essay about what we learned over the course of the year. We shared these essays with the class. If you were not here, it will not be necessary to make up what we did. You will be excused from the assignment and it will not count against you.

IMPORTANT: Students also received a copy of their "final" grade printout. If you were not here, please make sure you check Skyward and email me immediately about any possible errors. The deadline to take care of things is still tomorrow FRIDAY 31ST MAY @ 3:00P!

Book Report Presentations


On Thursday 23rd, May we enjoyed the final presentations for book reports. We took notes on the presentations and then discussed grades and passed back work. If you were absent, You will not be able to nor need to make up what happened. However, please check Skyward carefully and make sure your grade is correct.

Test Review: The French and Industrial Revolutions

Napoleon and Essay Writing

On Monday 13th, May we corrected our Age of Napoleon worksheet from last time and then watched an in depth biography on Napoleon. We then discussed what kind of man he was and organized our assignment, notes, and discussion into a five paragraph essay. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Turn in your assignment, Age of Napoleon, from last time.

2) Download the notes sheet and use it to do some personal research on Napoleon. Even though we watched a video you can take notes by researching the internet. Follow the instructions and organizational outline on the back of the notes sheet to write a five paragraph essay.

Reign of Terror

On Thursday 9th, May we looked at the Reign of Terror and began discussing Napoleon and his impact after the Revolution. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

The French Revolution (Continued)

On Tuesday 7th, May we continued discussing and looking at the French Revolution. We graded our assignment from last time and then watched a  portion of a movie on the subject and then completed a writing assignment. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Turn your assignment in from last time the Chapter 18 Section worksheet.

2) You can either come in after school to watch the video or you can do some research on your own about the French Revolution. You will need to use the information you got from your book Chap 18 Sec 1 and your research and/or movie to write a 1 page essay that answers the following questions:

- What were conditions like in France during the late 1700s?
- What kind of rulers were Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette?
- How did the people of France respond to this social, political, and economic conditions?

On Friday 3rd, May we began our unit on the French and Industrial Revolutions by having a discussion on what we have learned in history thus far and how that changed with these two revolutions.
