On Friday 18th, Dec. was our big school wide assembly and event. In class we simply covered some minor details concerning grades and pass backs. We then spent the time discussing holiday history and customs from around the world. If you were absent, it is not necessary to make anything up. Please enjoy your break!

TEST: Chapters 3, 6, and 8

On Wednesday 16th, Dec. we reviewed and tested after we completed our assignment on China. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Please turn in your assignment from Thursday 10th, Dec. It is the Jigsaw activity on China. If you were absent, you will have to finish two more sections on your own since you missed today and working with your partner. You should have a total of 4 sections of your packet complete. You may pick which sections to do.

2) Please turn in your 2 yellow study guides and 6 green notes sheets of your review packet for this unit.

3) Schedule a time to come in and make up your test. ASAP!!!

Japan and Korea

On Monday 14th, Dec. I was absent and you had a substitute. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Please watch the following documentary. You need only watch approximately the first 30 mins. As you watch please take notes. Use your notes to write a 1/2 page summary of what you learned.

Chap 8 Sections 1 & 2: Characteristices of Post Classical China

On Thursday 10th, Dec. most of the class was taken up by the counselors for our suicide prevention presentation. However, we did squeeze in a little China. If you were absent, please do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Check with your counselor for any information you feel you may need on suicide prevention.

2) Download the following assignement and choose two of the red heading sections to complete. You only need to do two and we will incorporate you into a group on your return. Important: Do NOT do the first red heading section for Chap 8 Sec 1 since we already did that one.

Return to China

On Tuesday 8th, Dec. we spent the day doing some administrative tasks due to my student teacher leaving. I needed to make sure that everyone was on the same page. We then then completed some notes. If you were absent, you will for the most part do the make up for today on your return.

1) Be sure to pick up all the graded work that was handed back.

2) Check with a friend in the class or me to get the notes that were given. They are not in the book and you will need to copy them.

3) The very small video we watched will continue next time and you can make it up then.

Presentations, Review, & Quiz

On Friday 4th, Dec. we took some time to present our assignments from last time. When then did a small review and then took our quiz on Chapter 6 - World of Islam. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Turn in your assignment from last time: both the blue paper and the presentation you created.

2) Download the following review materials and prepare for your quiz. The review crossword is an assignment.

Islamic Culture and Civilization

On Wednesday 2nd, Dec . we continued our study of ISlamic civilization. First, we had to take a few minutes to finish our notes from last time. We then corrected our assignment and then began a new one. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Please turn in your assignment from last time called Creating an Arab Empire.

2) Then please read Chapter 6 Section 2 (towards the end) and finish your notes from last time. You may copy from a friend, but it is critical for you to read so you get all the information you need.

3) Download the following assignment and complete following the instructions. However, since you were not here, you will not have a group so for Step 1 of the assignment you may choose the topic that interests you the most. Please have your assignment ready for next class.
