Early Japan and the Gupta Empire of India

On Tuesday 26th, Mar. we took notes on Chapter 8 Sec 3 of your text - Early Japan and then watched a video about the Gupta Empire. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Read Chapter 8 Sec 3 and  fill in the notes. (You only have to read up to Korea. We will cover Korea later.)

The Mongols and China

On Wednesday 20th, Mar. we began our unit on Asia in earnest and started by discussing the Sui, Tang, and Song dynasties of China. We also talked about the fall of the Song dynasty to the Mongols. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Read Chapter 8 Sec 1 of your text and fill in the notes sheet to the best of your ability. You may copy from a friend for notes you cannot find. However, you MUST read the section to get the context of what we discussed.

TEST and Sub Video

On Monday 18th, Mar. we took our test on the Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment unit. We then watched a video on the Mongols to kick start our next unit on Asian history. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Schedule a time to come in and take the test.

2) Write a typed, double spaced 1.5 page report on the Mongols and Genghis Khan.

Sophomore Assembly

On Thursday 14th, Mar. there was no class due to the sophomore assembly. Nothing to make up.

Review and Presentations

On Tuesday 12th, Mar. we corrected our Enlightenment worksheet from last time. We then finished our presentations and then spent time reviewing for the test. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Make sure to turn in your worksheet on the Enlightenment.

2) Copy the presentation notes from a friend for the one s you missed.

3) Complete the review crossword and make sure you have all 5 green notes sheets to turn in.

On Friday 8th, Mar. we looked at the Enlightenment and the major people who contributed to the movement. We then spent the remainder of the class listening to presentations. I also passed out study guides for the upcoming test. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Please read Chapter 17 Section 2 - The Enlightenment and complete the following worksheet.

The Scientific Revolution and Presentations

On Wed. 6th, Mar. we discussed the Scientific Revolution and enjoyed watching several student presentations.
