Peasants, Manors, & the Rise of Cities

On Friday 10th, Jan. and Monday 13th, Jan. we corrected our history booklets, took notes on peasants and their role in medieval society and then played a game about the importance of trade in building a city. This game will set us up for our next class topic. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Read Chapter 10 Sec 1 of your text and complete the notes and assignment. If there are notes you can not find, you may copy from a friend.

Notes: Peasants, Trade and Cities Chap 10 Sec 1

2) Research and write a one page report on either the Hanseatic League OR medieval guilds. This report will make up in part for the experience of playing the trading game and will get you ready to discuss trade next time.

Choose one of the topics above and discuss what it is, why it was important to the cities of the Middle Ages, its structure or parts, and the impact it had on life during the Middle Ages. Your report should be 1 page typed, double spaced.

Thanks.
