Conditions of the Working Class & The Ideas of Socialism

On Monday 14th, Mar. we looked at the conditions of the working class and discussed the idea of socialism. If you were absent, you will need to do the following to make up what you missed:

1) Complete the packet Conditions of the Working Class During the Industrial Revolution using your textbook. In order to complete Source 6, you will need to read the excerpt from the Communist Manifesto.

Assignment: Conditions of the Working Class

Reading Excerpt: Communist Manifesto (The Classless Society)

2) Then on the piece of paper from last time that you answered the question on property, you will do a freewrite based on the following prompt: (If you were not here last time or prefer, you may use a new piece of paper to do your freewrite)

What do I think about the conditions of the workers and the ideas of socialism as a response to those conditions? Do these have any relevance today? Can socialism be applied today?

Your freewrite needs to be a minimum of one page, handwritten!

Thanks.
